Then, basically this is the perfect show for all you wild party folks that enjoy a brawl here and there. Before Gossip Girl but way after 90210 there was a phenomenon back in the August of 2003 for a little show that could called The O.C. (Orange County for those not in the know.) It instantly broke Summer records for FOX and quickly made its way onto the fall line-up and broke the 4 unknown starlets into stardom.Episodes I would highly recommend are:“The Pilot” - it was not the ordinary “Pilot” where things are usually slow and way to informative.
It was the opposite, it was filled with interesting objectives for all the characters to try to triumph over: - Ryan, being the outcast to a community filled with rich kids that pretty much own the city.- Seth, meeting and befriending a kid he in a million yrs would have never thought would breathe as much as talk in the same space.- Marissa, the girl next door whose life is all but perfect, a boyfriend banging ever girl insight, a father who is in debt with everyone that pretty much runs New Port, and a gold digging mother in it all for the money. “The Escape” - the best the series has ever offered in my opinion. The episode that really highlights what teenagers emotionally go through when the only perfect relationship they had in life (their parents marriage) begins to crumble. How the aftermath of the news is too heartbreaking to consume at once and the irresponsible actions surface in trying to mend the hole left behind.“The Best Chrismukkah Ever” - ah, the beginning of an ever lasting tradition for many, quirky but also a reason the show was so great.“The Heartbreak” - all the Summer/Seth fans will defiantly remember this, the episode where Seth finally puts his fear and outwardly confesses his true hearts desire to Summer. While standing on the kissing booth on St.
Valentines Day, what a perfect way to say “you’re the one” than a confession from the heart.“The Goodbye Girl” - one of the best original character says their farewell to a tragically intertwined love triangle. A part of me was sad, but the other was also happy to see the two I was cheering for finally hook-up.Defiantly there are more but these are the ones I find to stand the test of time, classic in every bit. That said, it does not in anyway mean the whole season is not worth buying because it is, every episode was top notch, and done at the time by one of the industries new and coming writers, Josh Schwartz. If you think Gossip Girl was the best Teen Drama to have a thrilling first yr than I challenge you to watch The O.C.
And see if you can say the same.
